Adjusting to the discomfort

I'm grateful that I've been able to rest for several days in the countryside and have a view of a lake to gaze at. My mind will go places and think, I'm not worthwhile, however I know that's NOT true. I've had some good conversations with people who have had knee surgery. Its taking it one step at a time.

Rosh Hashana Letter

A ROSH HASHANAH LETTER from Reb Shlomo ztz"l:
"So friends in these few days we still have left before Rosh Hashanah & on Rosh Hashanah itself, I bless you and me, I'm begging you and I'm begging myself -- let's get all the *anger* out of our hearts... all the jealousy...all the pettiness. You know if I'm petty with other people, G-d forbid, then G-d is petty with me.

But if I'm big enough, the more I open my heart for other people, the more I open the gates for myself. Friends, the blessing people give each other on Rosh Hashanah is so deep, so forceful, so very awesome. On Rosh Hashanah every person can open gates for another person if you really mean it. I want to bless you & me that we should open gates for our husbands, wives, children & the entire world this Rosh Hashanah.

Friends, I'm begging you, I'm begging you, don't be angry, not even with yourself. Just lets cleanse our hearts, lets cleanse our thoughts... our holy rabbis tell us, the greatest joy in the world is when you "forging", you rejoice when something good happens for another person. On Rosh Hashanah, the acid test is, how much are you praying for someone else? In the Rosh Hashanah prayers, it's never singular, always plural. Because I'm standing before G-d & I'm saying unless you give life to the entire world, please don't give it to me. Unless you make everyone rich, please I don't want to be the only rich man. Unless you give peace to the whole world, don't give me anything, unless you give it to my husband, my wife, my children, unless you give it to Yerushalayim.

Ice Cream for breakfast, sure! its my birthday

You say its your birthday....
Well, the universe has a good sense of organization. Like getting me to purge what I've collected
I'm listening to Frank Sinatra croon lets fly lets fly away come fly with me....
as I'm on hold making an appointment with the Orthopedist. I'm going to rock this. Life is how we embrace what happens. I gracefully accept what happens to me, what a teacher. Its time to surrender, its time to step up into my power, its time to shine really brightly. Blessing us all to move from fear into LOVE and move boldly in the direction of our deepest dreams.

Cosmic reasons

 Words from Elizabeth Peru
Knowing that there is a cosmic reason for so much clearing up of your past,  puts you in your power right now. You see you are not going crazy, you are meant to be releasing and letting go, the planetary alignments which influence you each day...say so!

Knowing that the eclipses help us sort out what no longer serves us, we can use this season to our best advantage, rather than being dumbfounded as to why so much is now leaving.

I suggest that you:
  • Go into meditation each day in September.
  • Simply close your eyes and be still for 5 minutes.
  • There is nothing to do. Just be with yourself.
  • When you open your eyes right down what comes to you.
  • Each day make it a fun point to be aware of your inner thoughts.
  • Focus on the positives in your life, catch yourself out dwelling on past negatives.
  • Face every challenge that comes your way.
  • Tell yourself how capable you are, as you go ahead and act with clarity and decisiveness.

Blessing us with the sweetness

with all the blessings l've benn a carrying around mushy bag of peas and carrots. The man in the market from Dominican Republic told me would be good with fish.
Fear comes up. Surrender to what is.
Its about slowing down.
Its about trusting
Its about seeing the good
its about giving thanks
we praise with our knees, we bend and say Baruch...One knee will not bend so easily, it buckles. My moblility, my freedom. Rest is essential. getting  quiet.
Its about getting in touch with what do I REALLY want?
Today is Chai Elul the birthday of the Baal Shem Tov and the Alter Rebbe. May we connect to their essence, and the essence of our own soul.

Choosing Happiness

Our 10 ways to consciously choose happiness!  from Shareen Richter, Laughter coach

1. Choose to be the best YOU can be. – Give it your all in everything you do, commit to your goals, and don’t compare yourself to anyone else. Never try to be better than anyone else, but never stop trying to be the best you can be.

2. Choose to be around the right people – Spend time with nice people who are smart, driven and like minded.  Relationships should help you, not hurt you.  Surround yourself with people who reflect the person you want to be.  Choose friends who you are proud to know, people you admire, who love and respect you – people who make your day a little brighter simply by being in it.  Life is too short to spend time with people who suck the happiness out of you.

3. Choose to focus on what you have, not on what you haven’t – When you appreciate what you have, what you have appreciates in value.  Being grateful for the goodness that is already evident in your life will bring you a deeper sense of happiness.  And that’s without having to go out and buy or acquire anything new.

4. Choose a good attitude – Instead of looking how far we've come, we tend to look at how far we still have to go. Remember, life is a journey, not a destination.  This moment, like every moment, is a priceless gift and an opportunity.  Be positive, smile, and make it count.  Pretend today is going to be great.  Do so, and it will be.  A great attitude always leads to great experiences.

5. Choose to smile more often – A smile is a choice, not a miracle.  Don’t wait for people to smile but rather show them how!.  A genuine smile makes you and everyone around you feel better.  The simple act of smiling sends a message to your brain that you’re happy.  And when you’re happy, your body pumps out all kinds of feel-good endorphins. Sm

Just a walk in the park...with Hatzola

I went to Prospect Park with a fellow landman from the bay area. We went to to Nellies Meadown and played on the logs for balancing and jumping. I was balancing on a log when I heard a crunching, I fell on my right knee and landed on my back. Could I get up.? I was definitely in pain. It took me a few moments, I wasn't getting up so quickly.I sent myself some healing visualizations I was able to get up and felt my knee buckle. I was able to mae it over to a log and sat against it and waited for my friend to go get ice. He returned, my friend Meyrav showed up with water, and woman said she could help me she's a hypnotist.  Eventually Hatzola came, I decided I wasn't going to make it walk event to the edge.3 guys show up. A younger well dressed mani with bright eyes, his arm in a brace, he's driving a vehicle. Two men with peyos come out of the ambulance. I ask the name of the taller one. Moshe  I want to say "Moishe'
No, I don't want to go to the emergency room, thank you. they wrapped my leg with an ice pack and bandage and I got int the car. Now this is cheap, they did not drive me all the way out of the park. The driver did give me a choice. I let him make the circle around the park.    I crossed the street to the library and sat facing the traffic on Eastern Parkway. I delayed getting a cab and sent my new mensch friend off to get a rootbeer float. Meyrav worked on a laughter sign and  finally found my favorite whacked out Lubavicher to give me a ride back to the Chood. Margaritas anywone?

Its a great day!

Woke up before 5, got on the train by 6, went swimming near Brighton Beach. feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, we ALL need healing water. Did a session on a friend, I went into that sleepy meditative state, she also went somewhere. Did what I've been procrastinating on for days-got an overdue manicure and pedicure. Hooray for self improvement!

Where is home

My drivers licensce expires in 3 days. I don't know where I live anymore. I need to change my CA address. I need a place to call home. I will find it, I know. and trust in the goodness of it all. its okay to wander, we all need a place to call home

Moments of entitlement and pride

The greatest thing we can do for another person is a favor. From today's HaYom Yom
/ I'm ready for change. ready for a different environment, even though this one is familiar and I appreciate the porch. If not this, something better I tell myself
Indignation comes up. I deserve better. Can I see the good in this moment? the perfection of it all?
